A Review on Deep Learning Techniques for Image Caption Generation

For generating captions for images or videos we widely use Deep Learning methods. Image and video captioning present complex challenges within the field of imaging science. Image caption generator is a complex task as it involves two domains which are image processing and natural language gen-eration. Possible application areas include generating automatic captions or descriptions for images and videos to assist individ-uals with varying levels of visual impairment, creating metadata for images and videos to enhance search engine indexing, and developing a vision systems which effectively describe the scene, among others. Each of these areas can have a meaningful influence on numerous applications. This article offers a brief overview of both image captioning techniques that utilize deep learning.
