The article clarifies the conceptual characteristics, legal, and organizational issues of the process of obtaining computer information in operational investigative activities from organizers of information dissemination on the Internet. Such actions can be carried out as part of the operational search event "Obtaining computer information". This type of operational search activity in the penal system is in demand for the detection of crimes of a terrorist nature and extremist orientation, the search for persons evading punishment, as well as for the detection of corruption-related crimes.
