Perspective: Passive Sensing May be the Front-Runner ISAC Service for 6G Adoption

Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) is anticipated key differentiator in future 6G—that converts networks from being just reliable bit-pipes to providing contextual awareness and cognitive intelligence capabilities. Network operators are thus looking to ISAC for new value- added/monetizable services. This article highlights the role of passive sensing as an early forerunner among multiple options for successful deployment of ISAC.
