The emergence of now prevalent IoT technologies poses various novel threats to data confidentiality and availability, as well as increases the complexity of equipping interconnected networks for effective operation. Most conventional security approaches do not achieve an optimal balance between such a fundamental measure of resistance to unauthorized parties or entities and the computational complexity to come up with solutions, significantly more so in the context of resource-starved IoT platforms. As such, this paper proposes an Enhanced Security Bounds Framework that can tailor security protocols to the current evaluation of the network security risks and the current capabilities of the devices. The framework incorporates the high-level encryptions as well as quick forms of authentication that will not slow down overall performance while protecting data from unauthorized access. Also, the proposed solution discusses the use of ML procedures for identifying the arrival of new threats that would make the proposed solution have an ability of countermeasures. The proposed framework consistently achieves evaluation results superior to traditional IoT security protocols in both aspects of security robustness and energy savings by conducting numerous simulations. This is expected to provide a flexible, strong and effective platform security solution as required in IoT systems.
