Human/environment interaction—children understand that people depend on, change, and are affected by the environment. Specifically, children will identify a piece of land—be it a park, a vacant lot, part of the school grounds, or the like—and take actions to restore that parcel to its original state (such as prairie restoration, reforestation, etc.).
