Privacy and Data Protection Concerns in AI Enabled Military Surveillance Systems

Abhishek Singh, Ajay Kumar Maurya · International Journal of Novel Research and Development · 2025

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into military surveillance has significantly reshaped defense operations by enabling advanced monitoring, automated threat analysis, and enhanced strategic decision-making. However, the deployment of AI, particularly machine learning (ML) algorithms, introduces critical challenges related to privacy and data protection. This paper examines the ethical, legal, and technical implications of data collection, processing, and storage within AI-enabled military surveillance systems. It assesses potential risks, reviews current regulatory frameworks, and proposes solutions to ensure a balance between national security imperatives and the protection of individual rights.
