ABSTRACT This paper addresses the problem of variable convergence rate and robust practical stability for nonlinear stochastic systems (NSSs) via periodic event‐triggered impulsive control (ETIC). To solve this problem, a sliding variable with variable convergence rate characteristics is designed based on the interval stability principle and T‐S fuzzy technique. Subsequently, a periodic ETIC is constructed using the designed sliding variable. Interestingly, the proposed controller simultaneously achieves state convergence rate adjustment and disturbance suppression for NSSs. Sufficient conditions for variable convergence rate robust and practical stability of NSSs under both periodic and continuous ETIC are established. Moreover, an algorithm and flowchart are designed to intelligently regulate the state convergence rate of NSSs. Finally, the stabilization of a single‐link rigid robot system and the robust tracking control problem of a motor servo system are employed to validate the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
