In recent years, the demand for wireless local area networks (LANs) has increased due to the growing need for high throughput and robust communication in high-density wireless environment such as smart factories and enterprise networks. However, conventional wireless LANs use autonomous channel access mechanisms, which can lead to resource contention among multiple basic service sets (BSSs), resulting in reduced efficiency and degraded performance. To address this, the IEEE 802.11 working group has been discussing multi-access point (multi-AP) coordination, where APs in overlapping coverage areas collaborate to improve communication performance. This study focuses on Joint Transmission (JT), a technique in which multiple APs coordinate to simultaneously transmit different data streams to a single terminal, thereby enhancing transmission speed. In this study, a link-level performance evaluation of the JT method in an indoor hotspot area is conducted using the WINNER II B3 Line-of-Sight (LOS) channel model. The simulation results demonstrate that the JT method achieves a higher effective transmission datarate compared to single AP.
