Bandwidth and Passband Control
Dimitrios Peroulis, Mohammad Abu Khater · 2025
As discussed in Chapter 1 , the filter bandwidth is related to its coupling structures. Coupling structures tend to be frequency dependent, causing the bandwidth to change as the center frequency is tuned. Consequently, this chapter explores various inter-resonator tuning and compensation techniques to control the bandwidth of both bandpass and bandstop filters. Additionally, the passband response of a bandstop filter is typically limited by spurious resonances in the filter structure. Techniques to enhance these passband responses are also discussed.
