This study addresses the need for an intuitive software dashboard, a web-based application, to manage a locally produced IoT gateway board, "IoTPod". It includes all necessary software components such as firmware, AP Mode configuration, Wi-Fi provisioning, ESP32 and Web App Communication Architecture setup, database creation, security feature implementation, and user interface development. Adopting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology ensured systematic implementation and functionality of these features. The implementation of AP mode provided a smooth configuration process, with reliable EEPROM storage and seamless transitions between AP and Station modes, ensuring device settings were preserved and the device connected to the intended network. Integrating an embedded security key, database logging, and user authentication using bcrypt and session management like JWT has strengthened the communication between the IoT gateway and the developed dashboard, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring strong security measures while keeping the interfaces user-friendly. Overall, the dashboard has reached several important milestones in device management, security, user experience, and reliability by implementing effective device discovery, secure authentication, intuitive interfaces, and stable connections. LoRa integration for extended communication, AI-driven analytics, and advanced encryption measures for further enhancement of its capabilities.
