Sensitivity of Traffic Features for Detecting Concept Drift in Optical Access Networks (Invited)
Lihua Ruan, Xiangyu Yu, Elaine Wong · 2025
This invited paper presents the sensitivity of low-layer traffic features, specifically those at physical and medium access control layers, in indicating traffic characteristic changes in optical access networks, a phenomenon termed traffic concept drift. With simulations using synthetic traffic traces of emerging applications, we discuss the impact of different traffic features on accurately detecting traffic concept drift in a timely manner. Insights into drift detection and resource allocation are also provided.
