Robust Distributed Economic Dispatch Methodology Under Uncertain Input of Consensus-Based Protocol

Ijaz Ahmed, Muhammad Rehan, Muhammad Khalid · 2025

In reliable optimization for energy operation, it is essential to balance both robustness and efficiency. Compared with traditional distributed economic dispatch (ED), this work presents a robust strategy by assessing the intrinsic input uncertainty, thereby providing an approximate optimum solution. The conventional methods are based on the ideal information for the distributed dispatch. Presently, we have addressed the same problem under an uncertain environment due to input variations of the consensus protocol. The study establishes a mathematical benchmark via Lyapunov theory, graph theory, disturbance modeling, and robustness to evaluate the advantages of utilizing these linked uncertainties within the context of the distributed economic power delivery challenges. Furthermore, a case study involving a balanced directed graph has been provided to demonstrate the efficacy of this technique, providing theoretical verification under the disturbance.
