Anusha C Reddy, Ginnaram Varun, S Rossan, M Beena · 2025
The rising proliferation of cloud-based storage solutions permits the better management and analysis of sensitive data by an organization. However, ensuring data privacy and security during storage and processing remains a challenging task. This work details a complete framework for field-level data anonymization and secure de-anonymization in the protection of sensitive information, such as SSNs and credit card details in the cloud computing environment. The proposed methodology uses symmetric encryption to protect field-level data and asymmetric RSA encryption for key management. It utilizes a digital signature for integrity verification. It enhances security with AWS CloudWatch for real-time monitoring and secure communication. For sensitive data uploaded to Amazon S3, decryption keys will be stored locally on each user's machine so as to retrieve and de-anonymize the information safely. Its framework ensures data confidentiality, avoids unauthorized access, and is compliant with data protection regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.By integrating powerful cryptography methods with scalable cloud services, such a solution would provide an immensely practical way to store data in the most secure and process confidential and personal data without compromising either accessibility or privacy in cloud-based applications.
