The medical extended realities (MedXRs) span a spectrum of spatial computing technologies ranging from fully immersive virtual reality (VR) to augmented reality (AR) which allows users to remain in their natural environment and import either 2-dimensional (2D) or 3-dimensional (3D) digital images [ 1 ]. Recently, pass through AR has also emerged as an extension to the medXR spectrum, recreating the natural environment with digital images within an opaque headset. Previous data has described the use of a mixed reality system, the CommandEP System (Sentiar, St. Louis, MO) during minimally invasive cardiac electrophysiology procedures [ 2 ]. The CommandEP v2 system is deployed on a Magic Leap v2 head mounted display (HMD; Magic Leap, Plantation, FL) and creates a real-time 3D digital image of the electroanatomic map with catheter locations that can be used during cardiac EP studies, with a hands-free, gaze-dwell method for controlling and manipulating the data. For instance, the map can be rotated (both to standard views and free rotation) and has a dynamic clipping plane to achieve an endocardial view.
