In the search for ever more efficient ways to develop the innovative products of tomorrow, companies are increasingly using virtual reality (VR) tools. It is highly important that the VR systems used have a sufficiently high usability to ensure effective and smooth interaction. However, there is currently no approach specifically suited to evaluating the usability of VR systems. This publication presents a procedure for assessing the usability of VR systems, accompanied by an industrial case study. It explains exactly how the procedure was developed, highlights key challenges, and outlines the modifications needed for further improvement.
