Mitigating DDoS Attacks in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks: A Novel Approach
Neha Singh, Ankur Dumka, Manoj Kumar Panda · 2024
Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) are very vulnerable to DDoS attacks that exhaust system resources like power in the battery, bandwidth, energy, CPU resources, and CPU cycles, thereby rendering resources or nodes incapable of access by genuine users. These attacks compromise network connectivity since nodes have dynamic natures and network functionality that leads to data delivery problems and drops packets. Though much concentration has been put into securing ad-hoc networks, their dynamic nature requires new approaches to handle DDoS attacks effectively. It focuses on the complexity of DDoS attacks and their impact on MANETs and new defense mechanisms. We may develop strategies that strengthen the security level in a network to prevent negative effects due to DDoS attacks.
