In this paper, we propose a new method to reconstruct two-dimensional defects. The method is a combination of the eddy current testing technique and the wavelet theory. In the present method, the defects are reconstructed through detecting the discontinuities of the eddy current field. The distribution of the current vector potential Τ is first determined by using the magnetic field data from eddy current testing; then, the Τ distribution is decomposed into wavelets to detect the discontinuities of the eddy current field. With the detected discontinuities, the shape and size of the defects can be reconstructed accurately.
