Traditional door locks rely on physical keys, which can be lost, stolen, or copied. This poses a security risk and creates inconvenience when keys are misplaced. Key management, especially for multiple users, can be cumbersome. Fingerprint door lock systems offer a secure and convenient solution by utilizing unique biometric identification. The system authenticates users and control the door lock for secure access by using fingerprint sensor module. The hardware components used in this system include atmega328p microcontroller, the AS608 fingerprint sensor module, a relay module, and solenoid door lock. The software components include a program for interfacing the fingerprint sensor with the microcontroller. The system effectively differentiated between authorized and unauthorized users. The system provides feedback to the user through the LCD, indicating that the authentication process has failed. This security characteristic makes finger print-based systems a reliable and cost-effective solution for access control, and secure authentication.
