Crypto Shield: Indigenous PQC Algorithm for Military Applications

Mousmee Nath, Abhilash Anand · 2025

Quantum computing poses an existential threat to current public-key cryptography standards, necessitating urgent adoption of quantum-resistant algorithms. While the NIST standardisation process has identified promising candidates, military and high-security applications require enhanced protection through algorithm diversity. This paper presents CRYPTO SHIELD, a novel framework combining Kyber and NTRU-based algorithms to create a resilient KEM that maintains security even if one component is compromised. We analyze the security implications of this custom approach, demonstrate its implementation, and evaluate its performance characteristics. Our findings show that the custom key encapsulation mechanism provides a practical security enhancement with minimal computational overhead, making it suitable for deployment in high-assurance environments where cryptographic robustness is paramount. Experimental results show improved resilience at a modest computational cost.
