Nitin Upadhyay, Shalini Upadhyay · Procedia Computer Science · 2025
The tourism sector (TS) is advancing service robots’ adoption. However, current research mainly focuses on the technical and engineering aspects and leaves a considerable gap in examining and identifying its economic adoption factors. The paper fills this gap and provides critical economic factors such as supply-side and demand-side to adopt the service robots. The paper first critically examines the current research on the service robots’ economic perspectives in the TS. Next, it highlights how various economic factors affect the adoption decision of service robots. Further, the paper proposes an economic framework for robot adoption to guide TS organizations in investigating the service robot adoption decision.
