The relentless advancement of digital image-processing technologies significantly impacts various industries, ranging from healthcare and autonomous driving to environmental monitoring and digital media creation. As digital imaging technology becomes more ingrained in these critical sectors, the demand for more sophisticated image processing solutions escalates. These solutions are expected not only to enhance visual aesthetics but also to improve the accuracy and efficiency of automated systems that rely on image data for decision-making processes. In this chapter, we explore image-processing techniques by comparing traditional filtering methods with advanced deep-learning models.
