Leveraging Blockchain Technology for Enhanced Data Protection and Integrity in Cloud Security

As the IT industry rapidly shifts to cloud computing from traditional on-premises infrastructure for its cost-effectiveness, high availability, and scalability, concerns regarding cloud environment security have escalated. Over recent years, significant strides have been made by researchers in identifying hazards, proposing mitigations, and exploring blockchain technologies to strengthen and enhance cloud security. This research work delves into the literature, examining various blockchain-enabled cloud computing systems which enhances the security over the internet. In addition to this, the research work also covers the architecture and applications of both Cloud Computing and Blockchain Technology, along with discussing the necessity for cloud security and the role of blockchain in addressing these challenges. Further, the author has proposed a system architecture which can be used to enhance cloud security using blockchain for real-time data and log verification in a cloud environment which helps in automated auditability and compliance as per the industry regulations.
