QUANTUM-RESISTANT ENCRYPTION SCHEMES FOR AI-ENABLED WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICES

Ahmad Ikram · 2025

Quantum computing poses some significant threats to data security in many fields, including healthcare.AI-enabled wearable medical devices are redefining health management by allowing for real-time collection of data, diagnostics, and treatment. These devices use encryption standards vulnerable to attack by a quantum machine. This paper discusses quantum-resistant encryption schemes and their possibility to ensure the security of AI-enabled wearable medical devices against future quantum threats.AI-enabled wearable medical devices store and transmit sensitive health data downstream for the modern healthcare system. The data is encrypted using current algorithms, such as RSA and ECC, which are vulnerable to attacks from a quantum computer. The construction of quantum machines would immediately compromise these encryption standards; hence, a need exists for quantum-resistant cryptographic mechanisms. The paper discusses the relevance of post-quantum cryptography against wearable medical devices. In this study, a variety of quantum-resistant encryption methods are discussed, which include lattice-, hash-, and code-based cryptography, while evaluating their Quantum-Resistant Encryption Schemes
