The rapid growth of global e-commerce has underscored the critical importance of efficient and secure last-mile delivery systems. Despite technological advancements, common issues such as unattended deliveries and failed dropoff attempts continue to create significant inefficiencies and inconvenience for both consumers and logistics providers. In response, this paper introduces ResiBox-a novel, smart parcel delivery solution that enables secure, unattended deliveries and provides real-time notifications to recipients. Leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, ResiBox integrates a Raspberry Pi platform, multiple sensors, and a custom mobile application to automate and monitor parcel deliveries. What sets ResiBox apart from existing solutions is its dual-layer security system and intelligent authentication process. The system requires users to pre-register tracking numbers via the mobile app, while a built-in barcode scanner validates incoming parcels to unlock the secure compartment. An embedded hall-effect sensor detects when the ResiBox door is opened, triggering a built-in camera to record the delivery event and transmit the footage to the user. This paper highlights the system’s end-to-end functionality, from authentication to secure delivery and real-time monitoring. The key contributions of this work include a seamless, userfriendly interface for delivery authentication, enhanced security through two-step verification, and improved delivery reliability-offering a scalable and effective solution to prevalent last-mile delivery challenges.
