The health sector relies more on a digital framework and interconnected systems than ever before. For this reason, it faces unparalleled challenges in cybersecurity. From sensitive patient data safety to security operational systems that are critical, the need for robust threat detection mechanisms has never been dire. Although traditional methods within threat intelligence often stand effective against known threats, they fall short when it comes to the complexity and sophistication of modern cyberattacks. The Quantum-Enhanced Threat Detection Systems (QETDS) as part of a revolutionary new way to strengthen health infrastructure against new emerging threats. With QETDS, the very powers of quantum computing include superposition, entanglement, and quantum parallelism to allow real-time identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities with unparalleled accuracy and speed previously unimaginable. Such systems hold transformative promise in transforming the security of electronic health records, protection of Internet of Things (IoT)-connected medical devices, telemedicine communication, and responses to ransomware attacks. It also addresses challenges linked to quantum technology, such as technical limitations, cost concerns, and ethical dilemmas. By focusing on the intersection of quantum computing and healthcare cybersecurity, this chapter lays out a comprehensive roadmap for using advanced technologies to create robust and secure healthcare infrastructures.
