As the threat of Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) weapons rises, efficient gas distribution mapping and rapid detection are crucial for public safety. This study focuses on building a Gas Distribution Map (GDM) with a multi-UAV system equipped with gas sensors, aiming to minimize system performance factors like mission time, total time, and the number of UAVs. The problem is modeled as a Multi-Objective Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (MO-CVRP), and a hybrid approach combining Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Simulated Annealing (SA) is proposed to optimize this task. Simulations show that this method improves significantly the system performance while maintaining high-quality of GDMs.
