Hybridizing Steganography and Cryptography for Multilayered Multimedia Security

R. Mahalakshmi, M Krishnavel, R Shyamala Devi, M. Martina Jose Mary · 2025

With the growth of multimedia content images, audio, and video—come serious security and privacy issues like unauthorized access, piracy, and data tampering. To address these challenges, this paper presents a multilayered security framework that uses advanced cryptographic techniques for encryption and steganography for secure data hiding. The encrypted multimedia data is hidden inside host files, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and imperceptibility. Experimental results show the proposed system improves data security while preserving multimedia quality. Our approach involves choosing the right cryptographic algorithms, implementing steganographic techniques, and analyzing security robustness against attacks. Both symmetric and asymmetric encryption are tested, along with steganographic resistance to detection and removal attempts. This framework provides strong defense against unauthorized access and ensures secure multimedia transmission and storage.
