Image enlargement is a process used to increase the size of an image by generating new pixels to fill the additional space while maintaining visual coherence. This paper presents an image enlargement method that uses a combination of High Dimensional Model Representation (HDMR) and Lagrange polynomials to create new pixels and assign appropriate values to them. The proposed method is compared against Nearest Neighbor, Bilinear, Bicubic, and Lanczos interpolation techniques. The results obtained from these comparisons are tabulated in this paper. Experimental findings demonstrate that the HDMR-based technique yields highly promising results.
