Resource allocation in edge-cloud (EC) systems is challenging due to dynamic topologies, high resource demands from end users (EUs), and the need for efficient offloading of resources between edge and cloud environments. Furthermore, EUs are vulnerable to security and privacy threats, where resources might be manipulated or diverted to malicious users. To address these challenges, we propose a novel scheme, which integrates blockchain technology within a software defined network (SDN) enabled EC framework, tailored for 6G-assisted smart cities. A layered scheme is presented, where smart city data is aggregated through EC interface and presented to control plane virtual network functions (VNFs). The SDN controller enforce policies via virtual network controllers (VNCs), ensuring optimal resource distribution and network agility. Performance evaluation is performed for SDN control plane analysis, 6G analysis, and blockchain transaction analysis. The results indicate the potential viability in 6G assisted smart city setup.
