Secure Social Network Applications via Private Blockchain and End-To-End Encryption
Marc Jayson Baucas, Petros Spachos · 2024
In recent years, social network applications on mobile devices have become very popular. However, its constantly growing user base and significance to many industries presents challenges in management and security. In response, we propose a secure social network application for mobile devices using private blockchain technology and an end-to-end encryption (E2EE) system. The blockchain can reinforce the security and manageability of the messaging service through its immutability and decentralization. Also, the E2EE system can preserve user data privacy and confidentiality through its cryptographical scheme. We evaluated the resulting design, analyzed its advantages over standard centralized applications, and proved its feasibility as a viable social network application for mobile devices.
