AI in Identity and Access Management (IAM) for Enterprise Systems: A Comparative Analysis
Anant Wairagade, Sumit Ranjan · Procedia Computer Science · 2025
A fundamental component of the enterprise system is identity and access management (IAM). IAM relates to the way users access digital resources and the activities they can perform with those resources. Additionally, identity access to online resources is regulated by its methods, procedures, and guidelines, which also establish the extent of identity permission over the available resources. The access management system can be enhanced using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. Therefore, to deal with cyber threats and other IAM challenges, organizations must conduct research into AI in IAM. This will allow them to adopt a more detailed and adaptable method to authentication and access control. The present study analyzes the correlation between AI and access management systems in the context of AI applications in IAM, with a particular emphasis on the tracking, administration, and control of gain privileges. The purpose of this work is to present evidence from relevant research to facilitate understanding of the mechanisms by which AI mitigates recognized IAM challenges. The analysis shows how AI improves access and identity management by automating processes, reducing the increasing number of cyber threats, and maintaining pace with technological advancements.
