Luca Canetta, Athos Guanziroli, Emmanuel Toniutti · 2025
Humanism and ethics principles are becoming more and more important, due to the increasing complexity of organizational landscape and the massive adoption of data-driven technologies, such as Internet of Things (loT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This paper identifies potentially relevant Humanism principles on the basis of a literature review and explores the integration of ethical and humanistic principles in management through a structured multi-criteria decision-making approach. Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), key ethical and humanistic factors are prioritized according to their perceived importance and analyzed across different organizational contexts (profit vs. no-profit, country of origin, company size, etc.). The results allow to determine the most important Humanism principles as well as to underline sector-specific variations in ethical decision-making, emphasizing the need for tailored strategies. This study provides actionable insights for organizations aiming to balance ethical values with competitive advantage.
