This paper investigates generating bacterial cellulose-based piezoionic deformation transducers. Composites with a three-layer structure, consisting of a porous bacterial cellulose bulk impregnated with an ionic liquid and complemented by two electrodes made of conducting polymers, are considered. These structures generate an open-circuit output voltage because of bending deformation in a cantilever beam configuration. In this study, an extensive experimental frequency analysis of the transduction capabilities of this class of composites is presented. The results were obtained using a swept input signal, followed by a statistical analysis of the data. Finally, a dedicated experimental setup was developed for this investigation.
