The rapid digitalisation of financial services has increased financial crime risks. This necessitates robust AML and CTF frameworks that respect DS and privacy. This chapter investigates how DS can strengthen AML/CTF compliance while balancing national autonomy with global cooperation. We evaluate their DS implications through qualitative analysis of case studies, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies like AI and blockchain. Results show that privacy-preserving technologies and multi-stakeholder collaborations significantly improve compliance efficiency while reducing privacy breaches. We conclude that DS-centric approaches strengthen financial security and individual privacy. The approach provides a scalable model for global AML/CTF harmonisation.
