A wide range of human endeavors, from the home to the community to the environment, are being shaped by the rapidly expanding realm of artificial intelligence (AI). The increasing prevalence of digital computing devices and huge data is elevating the significance of the opportunities offered by AI for both corporate and societal entities. In order to generate new applications and continue the expansion of AI, machine learning (ML) approaches have been designed to evaluate large amounts of data in order to get insights, classify, predict, and make judgments based on evidence in innovative ways. This study delves into a thorough examination of the evolution and utilization of AI across various domains of basic sciences, such as mathematics, biology, medicine, materials science, earth science, chemistry, physics, and information science. Every scientific field has its own unique set of problems, and the possibilities for AI methods to solve these problems are covered extensively. In addition, we illuminate emerging research trends that involve incorporating AI into all scientific fields. The purpose of this chapter is to lay out a general framework for research into basic sciences that could benefit from AI integration, to encourage scholars to investigate the cutting edge of AI-based fundamental science applications, and to encourage the ongoing improvement of these fields. The chapter also provides an intriguing, evidence-based research agenda for the future, which should assist future AI researchers in identifying research concerns, developing successful research to tackle complex societal problems, and more.
