The problem of the exponential output synchronization is investigated for complex networks with output coupling via an intermittent adaptive event-triggered control strategy. Different from most existing intermittent event-triggered strategies, we consider an adaptive strength into intermittent event-triggered control strategy, whose control gain can automatically update based on the system error. By using the intermittent adaptive event-triggered control strategy, we can not only obtain exponential output synchronization of complex networks with output coupling, but also effectively eliminate the Zeno phenomenon. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
