Cyber attacks have a paramount importance in the context of a fully-connected information society. Their detection, mitigation and prevention are crucial aspects to be addressed to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability properties. This is particularly critical in contexts as the ones related to Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), where not only data protection but also strict time constraints have to be respected to comply with critical applications. To this aim, the paper proposes the employment of a measurement set-up and procedures, compliant with the methodologies described in the document RFC2544, able to measure Quality-Of-Service (QoS) quantities, with particular reference to those parameters related to the time performance and correlate them to the attack condition of the network under test. The set-up employs typical IoT devices and suitable traffic generators with built-in measurement capabilities. Regular and attack conditions are tested and the obtained results show a strong correlation between the network state (e.g. under attack, regular traffic) and the QoS measurement values, specifically those related to latency and jitter, which are of paramount importance in TSN applications.
