Innovating the carbon asset financing model within supply chains and activating the carbon assets of enterprises is an important potential breakthrough to alleviate the financing difficulties and high costs faced by small and medium-sized emission control enterprises. This paper will utilize blockchain technology to reconstruct the underlying framework and business logic of the existing supply chain carbon asset pledge financing business, and propose a blockchain-driven carbon asset pledge financing model (hereinafter referred to as the “blockchain model”). To this end, this paper will focus on discussing the following issues: (1) analyzing the decision-making dynamics of financial institutions and enterprises under both traditional and blockchain models, (2) designing the operational framework of the blockchain model, (3) evaluating the feasibility and advantages of the blockchain model through theoretical and empirical analysis.
