With the rise of Industry 4.0, the convergence of IT and OT, along with cybersecurity, has become an increasingly critical focus. NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA) specifies a reference architecture for ensuring security within industrial automation systems. Verification of Request (VoR) and Data Diode are two key components of NOA that enable controlled bidirectional information flow between IT and OT domains. In this study, an architecture of a NOA-based secure Internet of Things edge gateway is proposed. A use case analysis is provided to illustrate the intended operation of the proposed architecture. In addition, key technologies for implementation are presented.
