An Iot And Ml-Based Hardware Model For Antitheft Protection Of Laptops

S. Sarumathi, S. Ruthravarshan, R. Rahul, J. Jasim Ahamed · 2025

The Laptop theft is one of the most severe threats to intellectual property and data security in this modern world where most portable devices carry a huge amount of sensitive information. Most existing anti-theft solutions rely on software mechanisms and internet connectivity, making them vulnerable to tampering or powerdown scenarios. This paper introduces a next-generation Anti-Theft Protection Kit that incorporates IoT and ML technologies with hardware-based encryption for unparalleled security. Key features are GPS and SIM-based location tracking by Trilateration, data encryption by AES256, and ML-based anomaly detection for suspicious activities. In contrast to a normal system, this kit works autonomously and does not rely on the main system of the laptop; it will work even if the system is offline or compromised. The system also provides real-time monitoring through dashboards, scaling for multi-device settings, and provisions for future integrations such as blockchain and biometric security. Extensive testing has proven its efficiency and established the solution as a new approach to laptop security.
