PHYSICAL MODELLING BASED ON THE ANALYSIS OF NATURAL SOUNDS

In this paper, we invmtigate sound analysis technique in order to resynthesise instrumental sounds by the use of waveguide models.Thus models simulate the most important physical features of the sound generation, and are consequently well adapted to musical performance.We consider two di erent clam of musical instruments: transient excited ones, and continuously excited ones.In each case, we derive common technique: for the estimation of the parameters of the model, based on an approximation of the spectral density of the resonators impulse response.For one typical instrument in each class, namely the guitar and the ute.we compare the estimated parameters to the ones coming from'the solutions of the movement equations.
