Machine learning techniques in network security

The internet’s pervasive influence in modern society has led to increased reliance, accompanied by escalated risks of exploring artificial intelligence, AI (machine learning) strategies for enhancing online security, focusing on threat detection methods such as fraud, intrusion, spam, and malware identification. Through an extensive literature review, this chapter examines the application of machine learning (ML) models in network safety, including a comparative analysis of their time complexity. Despite advancements, network security faces limitations and challenges, elucidated in this work. Additionally, it highlights the significances of addressing these constraints and outlines future directions for AI techniques in network protection.
