Low Cost Shipboard Voltage Monitoring Using a Raspberry Pi-Based Data Acquisition System
Dimitar Tsvetanov · 2025
This paper presents a low-cost voltage monitoring system developed for laboratory-based shipboard power system simulation is designed and validated. The system integrates an MCC 128 module for signal acquisition, a Raspberry Pi for the central processing unit, and a custom LEM-based voltage transducer PCB for precise voltage measurements. The system is evaluated in simulated shipboard scenarios involving harmonic distortion, transient events, and steady-state operation. The proposed setup presents measurement accuracy and performance comparable to a reference-grade instrument, based on experimental results. The results show that it is acceptable to implement flexible, low-cost monitoring solutions for evaluating power quality in maritime environments.
