Under the influence of a complex underwater acoustic channel, the images produced by side - scan sonar typically exhibit characteristics such as low resolution and blurred details. This situation undoubtedly adds a certain degree of complexity and difficulty to the small - target detection and recognition tasks relying on side - scan sonar images. The traditional interpolation algorithm has obvious defects, which is easy to lead to the blurred edge of the image, and the details are difficult to appear clearly. In view of this, this paper adopts a VDSR NN used to realize low resolution side scan sonar image as input, restore high resolution image, realize the premise of effective detail, restore high resolution image, significantly improve the display degree of detail features, especially the finer details in the image, while making the target edge more sharp and clear. On this basis, it can provide strong technical support and guarantee for the subsequent small target detection and identification work to a certain extent, and help the related work to be carried out more accurately and efficiently.
