Ankur Singh, Sumit Kumar Singh, Punit Kumar Chaubey · 2025

The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have introduced transformative tools that enhance human interaction with technology. Voice-controlled virtual assistants represent a significant leap forward as an intermediary between users and their devices. This paper details the development and evaluation of NOVA i.e. Next-gen Optimized Virtual Assistant, a desktop-based virtual assistant system that leverages AI to improve communication, task automation, and sentiment-aware interactions. Designed with modular architecture, NOVA integrates natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition, machine learning algorithms, and text sentiment analysis to provide an intuitive and efficient user experience. By analyzing spoken and textual inputs for sentiment, NOVA adapts its responses to align with user emotions, delivering personalized interactions and fostering deeper engagement. The findings highlight the capabilities of NOVA in streamlining workflows, enhancing accessibility, and delivering seamless and empathetic human-computer interaction. This paper also discusses challenges faced during development, particularly in implementing sentiment analysis for multimodal inputs, and offers potential directions for future research and innovation.
