Mastering violin performance requires a wide range of techniques, making it particularly challenging for learners. Among these skills, maintaining rhythm is crucial for improving proficiency in violin playing. If a system that provides learners with simple feedback on their rhythm deviations during performance could be realized, it would significantly contribute to enhancing the skills of violinists. In this study, we propose a rhythm deviation detection method designed for beginner violin players. The proposed method estimates the onsets of pre-recorded teacher and student performances using onset envelopes. Using these onsets, the tempo of each performance is calculated through a tempogram. After normalizing the derived tempos, the system calculates their differences. Sections where the difference exceeds a predefined threshold are identified as significantly off-rhythm and presented on the sheet music. By implementing this method, violin learners can practice rhythm independently and effectively using the feedback provided by this system, enabling smoother skill improvement.
