In the Internet of Things (IoT), the restricted Application Protocol (CoAP) has become a crucial facilitator of lightweight communication, guaranteeing the smooth integration of a large number of restricted devices. Because IoT ecosystems contain a wide variety of sensors, actuators, and other heterogeneous components, interoperability is still a major concern. By enabling effective peer-to-peer communication and real-time interaction, CoAP tackles these issues. Throughput and latency are the main experimental metrics used in this study to compare the performance of CoAP with Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT). The findings point to CoAP's promise for safe, low-latency Internet of Things applications while revealing areas for additional protocol improvement.
