Vijay Krishna Pallaw, Kamred Udham Singh, Ashok Kumar Yadav · 2025

In the digital era, digital medical data security is a big issue when forwarding from one place to another over the world through the transmission medium. Concerning medical images, three characteristics arise for security: confidentiality, reliability, and availability. Digital watermarking has great potential to provide security for digital medical data. Digital watermarking is a strategy that joins the data into digital continents. Digital watermarking is necessary nowadays because it protects the information in digital media. It provides copyright protection for data that is useful over the network. The most common transformations used in data embedding methods are Discrete cosine transformation (DCT) and Discrete wavelet transform (DWT), which protect medical images because it provides more robustness to secure the image. In this review, we have concisely condensed a broad range of research focusing on watermarking strategies.
