A web-based application for decentralized file storage utilizing blockchain technology is developed and analyzed in this research. The system enables users to upload files securely stored in blockchain blocks, each containing essential metadata, ensuring data integrity and preventing unauthorized modifications or deletions. The implementation uses a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus algorithm to secure the blockchain and facilitate the addition of new blocks. The study compares two PoW algorithms, one random and the other one incrementing the nonce, evaluating both algorithms performance in terms of running time and behavior. The comparative analysis reveals the efficiency and security implications of each algorithm, while the research emphasizes the importance of blockchain technology in decentralized file storage systems for data security, integrity, and accessibility. The research findings help to improve our understanding of blockchain-based file storage systems and give insights into the design and improvement of PoW algorithms for decentralized networks.
