IoT applications based on wireless sensor networks are mostly plagued by end-to-end delays, packet loss during transmission, and shortened sensor node lifetimes owing to energy loss. To overcome these obstacles, we must create an effective routing protocol that not only raises the quality of service but also boosts network performance. In this study, we build a routing system that uses less energy for Internet of Things applications based on wireless sensor networks that experience unfairness in networks with large traffic loads. Three factors are taken into consideration by the proposed protocol to choose the best path: longevity, reliability, and traffic intensity at the next-hop node. In our proposed model APRP, with MATLAB R2013a, rigorous simulation has been carried out. Additionally, the suggested protocol's performance is contrasted with that of other modern protocols. In terms of energy consumption, end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio, and network lifetime, the results show that the proposed protocol outperforms alternatives.
